Theres one way to avoid being scammed! - Always Always visit the pet your are wanting to purchase at its home and do not part with your money until you are happy with the pet you are buying. See the pets documentaion etc.
Things to Never Do! - Please do not risk being scammed by sending money to a seller online via paypal western union transfer or other means no matter how cute a pet looks - how cheap it seams to be etc etc. If a seller has a pedigree pet worth £1000 and selling it for £200, seems to good a bargain to miss right!?, Wrong! truth is this is probably a scam. If it looks to good to be true it probably is.
Scammers may also claim a pet is free, but only want the money for shipping or pet courier so be aware.
Sellers! Be aware of advanced fee frauds were a buyer will send you a cheque for an amount more than the sale price and then ask you to send back the difference. ( The cheque then bounces after you have sent on the money ).
